Level 1
Mondays 7:00-8:00pm
Thursdays 7:30-8:30pm

You'll be dancing from the very first class! This level will get you moving to the tribal groove, with an introduction to the fundamentals of tribal movement and partner work, isolations, strengthening, stretching, costuming, and more. Geared toward the new student, but vital to continuing students for refinement, this class establishes a strong foundation for every dancer. Even if you have taken tribal and/or other bellydance classes before, this class will be instrumental in familiarizing students specifically with this particular style.
Students will need to purchase high quality student zils (finger cymbals), which can be found at Saroyan Mastercrafts--either Afghanis or Grecians are recommended.

Level 2
Mondays 8:00-9:00pm

Student must have strong grasp of Level 1 Foundations--for brand new students, usually three-sessions to about a year of study in Level 1. If you are not sure, please consult instructor.

Build on your vocabulary and concepts you learned in Level 1, and challenge yourself at this next step in your dance explorations! Emphasis for this class is on growing and developing our dance at a more thoughtful and detailed level. We start every class with some wicked skill drills designed to increase your strength and endurance, as well as get your brain and body moving with greater complexity. From there we will explore a myriad of new moves and group dancing concepts together, which will expand our collective dance language. At this level there is greater focus on chorus work and partnering.

Level 2b
Thursdays 8:30-9:30pm

HULA! HULA! HULA!

OPEN TO ALL LEVELS
Cathy from Hokulani Hula will be guest teaching Thursday nights this session, and I couldn't be more excited! She will be teaching us hula technique and choreography, as well as some dance technique and history of related dance forms, including those from Hawaii, New Zealand (Maori), Tahiti and Samoa.

Note: this class does not qualify for multiple class discounts, and therefore is a separate registration from regular class sign-ups.

Level 3
Mondays 8:00-9:00pm

This class is by instructor permission only.

This class gives you the tools to really push your dance to the next level. Emphasis on intermediate explorations, including inFusion-specific vocabulary and skills, strengthening and flexibility, refined technique, layering, and building on communal tribal movement vocabularies. We will explore more advanced group dynamics, formations, and transitions. Special topics may include floor-work, props, balancing skills, solos, and choreography.
