Level 1 & 2 Comprehensive Drills

These workshops are a chance to see the full repertoire of Shay's Levels 1 and 2 in action! Each 2 hour workshop will feature ALL the fast and slow moves in each level of study (6 and 12-week courses), with a brief breakdown and opportunity to ask questions and drill.
This will not be a technique-refinement course of study, but instead a sort of overview and refresher of the material at each level, and a chance to dance hard and keep our tribal-minds spinning during our summer break. Students are encouraged to ask questions to refine their knowledge, but overall the pacing will be very "quick and dirty", so a clear head and a body ready to dance-dance-dance is a must! Handouts will be provided with full lists of the current repertoire for your own reference.
Level 1 ~ 10am-12pm
The Level 1 workshop is open to all levels, and is a great chance to hammer out your foundations.
This class is perfect for:
* new students who want an overview of the material at this level
* continuing students to finally really dig into some of the foundation level changes and tweaks that took place since 2007
* dancers of other tribal styles who want to get a taste of different stylistic and aesthetic approaches to ATS/tribal
* "tribal-curious" dancers who want a little wham-bam introduction to tribal vocabulary and stylings
* students considering Sharon's classes in the future and want to check out the style and energy of the space
Level 2 ~ 12:30pm-2:30pm
The Level 2 workshop is open to dancers with at least three sessions of Level 1 study, either with Sharon or in any other ATS based style. Not for the faint of heart, we will be digging into 12-weeks worth of fast and slow material in only 2 hours, so be ready to work!!
This class is perfect for:
* continuing students who want to get a full picture of the Level 2 material
* established Level 1 students considering moving into Level 2 in the coming year, to get an overview and start preparing for that step
* more advanced students who want to revisit their Level 2 repertoire as a rapid-fire refresher course
* intermediate and above dancers from other ATS-based styles who are interested in exploring different styles and approaches to the art form and would enjoy an accelerated overview of the material
* tribal fusion dancers who have not recently been delving into their ATS-based roots, as a chance to reconnect with the aesthetics and philosophies that lead to strong fusions
Workshops will begin promptly on time. Level 1 will have a brief warm-up, but Level 2 will not have a warm-up in order to make the most of our limited time. So Level 2 participants should arrive warmed up and ready to work!
