49.81% registered voter turnout in Punjab, 48.81% in UP phase

In the third phase of the seven-phase Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Lalitpur recorded a high average turnout of 59.18% till 3pm, followed by Etah with 53.20%.

Manpuri had an average turnout of 52.51%, in Mahoba it was 51.72% and in Firozabad 51.09%. The lowest turnout till 3pm was in Kanpur Nagar at 41.41%.

Polling in 59 constituencies for the third phase of Uttar Pradesh elections is underway.

There are 2,14,99,804 voters in Punjab who are eligible to exercise their right to vote on Sunday. He said there are 1,304 candidates – 1,209 men, 93 women and two transgender are running in 117 constituencies across 23 districts in the state.

The state is witnessing a multifaceted competition this time with the Congress, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bahujan Samaj party alliance and the Bharatiya Janata Party-former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh coalition, the Congress Punjab Lok party as key players. .

The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
