Ajit Pawar presents a budget of Rs 10,000 Crore; Know the main highlights
Maharashtra Budget 2022-23: Maharashtra’s deputy chief minister, Ajit Pawar, who also holds the post of finance, announced in the state budget on Friday. He said Maharashtra is heading for the first state that will have $1 trillion savings in the country. Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray offered floral tributes to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the Vidhan Bhavan ahead of the budget presentation.
Highlights:
-20 lakh farmers who paid loans on time to get Rs 50,000 incentive.
-The state plans to spend Rs 11,000 crore on health services over the next three years
-Rs 20 crore for cataract surgeries upgrade in the state
-A first class trauma care unit will be set up in Satara and other centers in the state. Each center will have a capacity of 50 beds
-A women’s hospital will be established in Sangli, Satara, Solapur, Kolhapur and each center will have a capacity of 100 beds
-Expenditure of Rs 3,183 crore for Public Health and Family Welfare Department
-Rs 2,061 crore for Medical Education Department
-Indrayani medicity is proposed on an area of 300 acres outside of Pune
-To encourage innovation and start-up culture, the state government proposed to establish an innovation center in each of the state’s six fiscal circles. Rs 500 crore has been allocated in the budget
-Rs 100 crore has been allocated for a music school dedicated to Lata Mangeshkar at the Kalina campus of the University of Mumbai
-Yashwantrao Chavan Study Center at Shivaji Kolhapur University to get Rs 1 crore
-Village schools where iconic and historical figures studied to get Rs 1 crore each
-BARTI Pune to get Rs 250 crore to implement programs for backward communities
-Rs 11,119 crore for Tribal Development Department
-For construction of roads and highways, PWD department received Rs 15,700 crore
– Rs 25 crore for the infrastructure works of the second phase of the Mahalaxmi Temple Kolhapur development plan
-The government should develop private sources of funding for the maintenance of protected memorials
-Special hospitals for police personnel will be set up
-SARTHI Pune to get Rs 250 crore for implementing programs
-Bhoomipujan by Marathi Bhasha Bhavan in Mumbai scheduled for 2nd April (Gudi Padwa day)
-The Satara Women’s Safety Model Project will be implemented statewide to reduce crime against women
-Maharashtra Bhavan will be installed at Navi Mumbai
-Medical check of all state employees over 40 years old. The government will spend Rs 250 crore for this financial year.
-Maharashtra government reduces VAT on CNG from 13.5% to 3%
