ATTINGAL: The father of the eight-year-old girl who was harassed by a pink policewoman in Attingal said he would pay part of the government compensation to the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. Speaking to a private channel, Jayachandran said he had not fought for compensation but for justice for his daughter.

Jayachandran asked the government not to appeal the verdict of the High Court asking him to pay compensation of Rs 1.5 lakh to the young girl. “I got a favorable verdict from the High Court after fighting for 4 months. If the government pays the compensation, I will deposit some of the money on my daughter’s behalf and donate some to the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. use some of the money for the education of tribal children, ”Jayachandran said.

The High Court had ordered the state government to pay compensation of Rs 1.5 lakh to the young girl who had been harassed by the pink police officer Rajitha accusing her of theft.

The incident happened on August 27 when Jayachandran, a resident of Attingal, reached Moonumukku with his eight-year-old daughter, who wanted to observe the movement of a huge cargo towards the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC) in Thumba. .

Rajitha, the pink policewoman, was deployed to help with traffic control and she accused the duo of stealing her cell phone which was kept in the police vehicle.

In a video that went viral, the officer and his colleague were seen harassing the father and daughter and even searching him. The child collapsed amid their harassment.
